I love the centre picture, it just looks like a 21 century defender should look like, holding on to the look but modernised.
I like the 1st and third concept pictures, I just think the centre one is holding onto a stronger link to the past whilst pushing into the future...... I really, really want one!!!
Looks like an overgrown BMW "Mini", and with the same design thought in mind: form before function. That puts it in complete opposition to the original Series/Defender Land Rovers. The Anti-Rover, if you will. Can't imagine any MOD orders for that one, either. I wish they would just retire the name. That said, the one in the middle is a better artistic interpretation of a Land Rover than the other two. Depressing. Land Rover RIP.
Wow, that top one is definitely going on my wall. I really hope they bring that to production. The Evoque is doing really well, so there is obviously a market for differently designed suvs. Great post.
Somewhere around the age of 18, when we find ourselves locked within the bittersweet crossroads betwixt boy and man, we pull down the wrinkled poster of the Lamborghini Countach, tear it up so that it fits neatly into our parent’s trash can and walk away.
Strange that only a few years prior, if asked, we would have sworn up and down (in our high-pitched prepubescent voices) that that car would someday be in our driveway. Or at least driven. With Farrah Fawcett, Carol Alt or Cindy Crawford sitting shotgun.
But then, we adulterate into a sobering reality. And the only items on our walls become random prints of strange art and antique mirrors that return middle aged complexions.
What happened to the Countach? What happened to that soul stirring, inherent hope and promise of a prosperous future?
Nothing. It doesn’t have to end. You’re not dead. Just because you don’t have the wall space in your life doesn’t mean it’s not yours to still have.
Here it is. The wall space. The latest and greatest, most super-luxurious, awe-inspiring, dream-making gadgets and transpo humankind currently has to offer.

ReplyDeleteIt is to toylike for real Defender drivers to fall in love with. Hope they do not build this.
ReplyDeleteThe Middle One is Gold!!!! The other two look like pacers, Toyota Rav4, Tata motors junk.

I like the middle one but it looks like the Ford Bronco concept with a LR3 grill/lights
